[11.12.2007]  ::  CANCELLATION!...

Unfortunately, due to infirmity, Jelly Dogg will be unable to perform this Friday, 11/16, at Rookie's. We're sorry for the short notice, but some things are just outside one's control, ya know?

[11.12.2007]  ::  ...BUT WE HAVE ANOTHER GIGG LINED UP!
gigg!

Thanks to fellow band Little Dudes Green, Jelly Dogg has been invited to play an afternoon show at Brewskeez in O'Fallon. We're frothing at the mouth to taint this fine establishment with our vile soundscapes.

Come out and support us, and maybe — just maybe — we'll be invited back again!

Brewskeez
Sunday, 12.02.07
time: 1 PM - 3 PM

We look forward to seeing you there!

[10.16.2007]  ::  PIHA Gateway
gigg!

The Professional Inline Hockey Association Gateway has invited us to play at their upcoming draft party:

PIHA Gateway @ Queeny Park
Saturday, 11.03.07
9:30 PM - 12 AM

web site

This is a closed event, so only PIHA Gateway folks and kin will be subjected to our noise. And there will be noise.

[7.13.2007]  ::  A NEW VENUE!
gigg!

Mr. O'Bryan ("Jay", to those unfamiliar, who also goes by "Kevin" unbeknownst to many) has landed a new gigg for us at a rockin' new location, Market Street Bar and Grill in Warrenton. It's a little further west than usual for us, but it's such a happenin' locale that we jumped at the opportunity nonetheless.

Market Street Bar and Grill
Saturday, 8.18.07
9 PM - 1 AM

We look forward to seeing you there!

[6.27.2007]  ::  ROOKIE'S LOVES US!
gigg!

Thanks to the Dogg Poundd for checking us out at Rookie's on 6/22!

Due to the overwhelming (though inexplicable) adulation we received from y'all, we've been invited back later in the year for two more giggzz:

Rookie's
Friday, 9.21.07
8:30 PM - 1 AM

Rookie's
Friday, 11.16.07
8:30 PM - 1 AM

Thanks to everyone who participated, especially Lisa Jones with her soothing accompaniment to our raucous cacophony, and Beau / Bo / Bow / Beaux Bryson, with his heart-felt crooning at the end of the evening.

[4.22.2007]  ::  BACK WITH A VENGEANCE
gigg!

After a long winter hibernation, Jelly Dogg has emerged from its dogg house to once again entertain its raucous groupies!

Jam Master Jay has procured 4 new giggzz for us already, and still more giggzz are in the workzz, pending 6-figure compensation negotiations.

Here's the current lineup:

Rookie's
Saturday, 4.28.07
8:30 PM - 1 AM

Rookie's
Friday, 6.22.07

Here's Johnny's
Friday, 10.19.07

[12.15.2006]  ::  YET ANOTHER GIGG
gigg!

Parrot's has graciously invited us to play a holiday gigg at their rockin' venue! They even have a sound system!

This will be our LAST gigg for several months, so come get your Jelly Dogg fix while you can!

Jelly Dogg will return from its sabbatical in March of '07
(or thereabouts).

Date: Saturday, 12.23.06
Time: 9 PM - 1 AM

[10.23.2006]  ::  JELLY DOGG BROADENS ITS APPEAL
gigg!

The esteemed Bear Creek Golf Club in Wentzville has graciously/inexplicably invited Jelly Dogg to entertain them at their Christmas party!

Will Jelly Dogg be able to rise to the occasion and project some semblance of social acceptability, or will they perhaps plummet into the role of "Bad Santa"? Only time will tell...

Regardless, we would like to thank the Bear Creek Golf Club for the invitation to play!

Date: Saturday, 12.16.06
Time: 9 PM - 1 AM

(By invitation only)

[10.23.2006]  ::  A WELCOME GUEST APPEARANCE

Glenn Keener III will be gracing the Jelly Dogg stage this upcoming Saturday (10/28) at Rookies, supplanting the adored-yet-technically-challenged Scott/Gary on the drums.

Scott/Gary fans may be initially disappointed by the absence of their beloved drummer, but they will soon be won over by Glen's affability and talent, perhaps even to the point of scrapping the Gary Fan Club in favor of a new "Keener Krew".

[08.09.2006]  ::  ENCORE!
gigg!

It's a word we'd never heard before at one of our giggzz, but now that it's been uttered, we are overwhelmed!

Thanks so much to everyone at Rookies who made the evening so much fun. By the end of the night, people were coming out of the woodwork onto the dance floor, making us feel like bona fide rock stars.

We even have pictures to prove it!

Our performance was so well-received, in fact, that we've already lined up three more giggzz at Rookies in the next few months:

Date: Saturday, 09.16.06
Time: 8:30 PM - 1 AM

Date: Saturday, 10.28.06
Time: 8:30 PM - 1 AM

Date: Friday, 11.24.06
Time: 8:30 PM - 1 AM

Thanks again to everyone who came out to see us, and we encourage everyone to come back for our "encore" performances.

(Note that our previously-scheduled gigg for 9.22.06 at another, less-desirable location has been cancelled due to lack-of-coolness of said venue.)

[08.30.2006]  ::  WELCOME, PATTONVILLE CLASS OF '84
gigg!

Jay is old.

As a reminder of that, Jay will be celebrating his 22nd reunion with his Pattonville High School class of '84 on the very same day as the upcoming 9/16 Rookies gigg. Naturally, the celebration will follow him to Rookies, so all can expect to have a rip-roaring time with a bunch of old people!

So here's to the Pattonville Class of '84! May you drink well into the night!

(Note: this is the Pattonville High School reunion, and NOT the DeMarco High School reunion.)

Show time: 8:30 to 1 AM

[07.10.2006]  ::  PLAN B

What a weird evening.

We showed up on-time at our scheduled gigg at Goodfellas, only to find that they had double-booked bands that night, and — unconscionably — we were the ones they opted to let go!

Undaunted, master-marketer Jay landed us another gigg that very same evening at Here's Johnny's in O'Fallon. Thus, despite all the scrambling, "the show went on", and Jelly Dogg had a blast performing in a great new venue. Much finer than the original venue, we daresay. (dig, dig)

The performance was abbreviated, but we nonetheless squeezed in about 32 songgzz, all of which were acclaimed as "adequate" by most in attendance.

Special props go out to Linda and her date, Chris, who — after making the unrewarding trip to the originally-planned venue — forlornly ventured to another bar... and managed to stumble across us serendipitously! Please check out pictures of the unsuspecting couple, along with photos of other enthusiastic gigg attendees.

Thanks to everyone who was able to find us and help make it a successful evening! Our apologies to those in the Dogg Poundd who made the trip to Goodfellas but were sadly denied the Jelly Dogg experience. Sherri and Pat and BJ: we hope to make it up to you.

Next gigg: Friday, 8/4, at Rookies.

[06.21.2006]  ::  IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY EVENING...

...But that didn't stop the Dogg Poundd from coming to cheer us on!

Thank you, one and all, for coming to see us at Binford's Bar and Grill this past Saturday, June 10th. For this author, at least, it was one of the most funnest giggzz we'd ever played, mainly because so many people were dancing!

Once again, "Rebel Yell" proved very popular, but the evening's two biggest hits (if such a term can ever truly apply to any Jelly Dogg performance) were AC/DC's "You Shook Me" and Guns 'n Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine", both of which inspired much drunken, rowdy booty-shaking and vocal assistance from the crowd!

With that said, we do apologize for the quality of our impromptu rendition of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive". We hope it will never happen again.

A special shout-out ("roof, roof") to the "Demarco High School crowd", new Dogg-Poundder (hmm, that sounds awkward) Karen from New Town (who bought everybody in the bar about 5 shots each), and Monica (my lovely girlfriend) and BJ for actually taking pictures!

...Yes, that's right! PICTURES! Check 'em out!

[06.06.2006]  ::  A SHOUT OUT TO THE GOODFELLAS CROWD!

Jelly Dogg would like to formally thank all gigg-goers this past Friday night (6/2) at Goodfellas! As always, we had a great time! Whether or not you as a crowd could say the same is a completely different matter.

Of particular note this past performance, Jelly Dogg played a very bad impromptu version of Skid Row's "18 and Life", spurred by requests from the crowd, and sung (very well, actually), by enthusiastic new Dogg-Poundd-member "Joe".

Joe also helped us with our rendition of John Mellencamp's "Pink Houses", this time accompanied by a comely young lady friend of his. As a result, Jelly Dogg is now considering becoming a purely karaoke outfit.

"Rebel Yell", one of our new tunezz, was a big hit, bringing lots of hot chicks onto the dance floor. Next time, we might just have to play that songg five times in the same evening.

Once again, thanks to everyone who came out to Goodfellas, making the gigg nothing short of a "catastrophic success".

[06.06.2006]  ::  NEW GIGG! NEW VENUE!
gigg!

Master marketer Jay has procured yet another gigg for us (rather astounding, given the quality of what he has to "sell" to these places).

The name of the place is Rookies. Mark the following on your calendar:

Date: Friday, 08.04.06
Time: 9 PM - 1 AM

In honor of long-time Dogg-Poundd-member Linda Schmid, this one's in Wentzville! That's how popular we are! Even Wentzville knows about Jelly Dogg!

[04.25.2006]  ::  NEW GIGG! NEW VENUE!
gigg!

We've done gone out and landed ourselves a great gigg at a new, fine establishment: "Binford's Bar & Grill" in St. Peters!

Date: Saturday, 06.10.06
Time: 9 PM - 1 AM

According to Jay, Binford's is much more "Yuppie-friendly" than our typical venues, so please, no mullets!

[04.25.2006]  ::  CHANGE OF PLANZZ (part II)

As stated in the recent Jelly Dogg Newzzletter, our originally-(re)-scheduled gigg at Goodfellas (formerly "Partner's Lounge") on 4.30.06 has been cancelled due to continued renovations!

Instead, look for us at Goodfellas on 06.02.
(This time "for sure"!)

Date: Friday, 06.02.06
Time: 8:45 PM - 1 AM

[03.21.2006]  ::  CHANGE OF PLANZZ (part I)
gigg!

As stated in the recent Jelly Dogg Newzzletter, our originally-scheduled gigg at Goodfellas (formerly "Partner's Lounge") on 3.24.06 has been changed to the following day and time:

Date: Sunday, 4.30.06   cancelled
Time: 3 PM - 7 PM   cancelled

Sorry for the late notice, but Goodfellas was forced to reschedule us due to its continued, extensive renovation project, one which will provide more seating, a better stage, and an expanded kitchen and menu!

Jelly Dogg would like to thank Goodfellas for being gracious enough to grant us a special Sunday afternoon time slot, and we encourage all our fanzz to come see us at the newly-refurbished venue!

[02.19.2006]  ::  WE FEEL LOVED
gigg!

The Partner's Lounge gigg on 2/11 was a smashing success, so much so that we've been invited back for another three giggzz, on top of the 3/24 gigg we'd already scheduled there!

Date 2: Friday, 3.24.06    Sunday, 4.30.06
Time 2: 8:45 PM - 1 AM    3 PM - 7 PM

Date 3: Friday, 6.02.06
Time 3: 8:45 PM - 1 AM

Date 4: Friday, 7.07.06
Time 4: 8:45 PM - 1 AM

Date 5: Friday, 9.22.06
Time 5: 8:45 PM - 1 AM

In the interim, Partner's Lounge, solely in the interest of causing confusion (we think), has opted to change its name to Goodfellas. So, same great venue, same mediocre band, different venue name! Come see Jelly Dogg at Goodfellas!

[01.06.2006]  ::  BACK IN ACTION!
gigg!

After a several-month sabbatical, Jelly Dogg has re-emerged from its underground lair and returned to the light of day with a renewed vigor and enthusiasm! And with lots of new songgzz, for that matter! In fact, we are eager to subject you to them, and towards that end, we've procured not one, but two new giggzz to showcase our stuff, both in the rockin' venue of Partner's Lounge in St. Charles:

Date 1: Saturday, 2.11.06
Time 1: 9 PM - 1 AM

We know we've deprived our fanzz of our soundzz for far too long, so we're hoping for a big turn-out at both shows! Come on out and be a part of the Dogg Poundd!

In the meantime, check out our new tunezz in our comprehensive songg list.

[08.06.2005]  ::  CHAD's PARTY
gigg!

In an apparent lapse of good judgement, Chad Sturholdt has invited us back to his humble abode in far-off Troy, MO for his annual birthday bash! (well, not for his birthday, but rather for the birthday of his roommate, Alf)

Date: Saturday, 10.01.05
Time: around 7:30-ish

Although we're sure that thousands of rabid Jelly Dogg fanzz would love to attend the festivities, this is a private party, so we will not be posting directions for any random person on the street to stagger onto his property. For the right price, however, we might be persuaded to divulge such information to hot chicks. Those who fit the bill are encouraged to contact us directly!

[06.03.2005]  ::  PLAY SOME SKYNYRDD, MAN!

Okay, so maybe there's no such thing as "DeMarco High School", but the DeMarcos' high school graduation party was a smashing success!

Thanks to all in attendance who made it such a fun time for us! Though we had expected to play only 25 songgzz or so, we were more than happy to belt out 40 to such an enthusiastic crowd!

Particularly fun for us was fulfilling numerous off-the-cuff requests from the party-goers, including a very impromptu (read: "without practice") "Sweet Home Alabama". For that matter, "Sweet Child o' Mine" turned out pretty well, too! (Though long-time groupie Terrie Carroll – who likes the songg so much that it's her cell phone's ring tone – was unfortunately not in attendance; maybe next time, Terrie!)

In any event, thank you to the DeMarcos for including us in their frivolity! Jelly Dogg would like to formally announce that in addition to high school graduation parties, we are also available for Bar Mitzvahs, children's birthday parties, and Kwanzaa festivities!

[03.15.2005]  ::  PENALIZED AGAIN
gigg!

Okay, so, like, The Penalty Box seemed to dig us at our last gigg (special thanks to all who opted to join us that evening)!

They dug us so much, in fact, that they've invited us back for back-to-back performances on April 15th and 16th!

Where: The Penalty Box
Friday, April 15th
  ~ AND ~
Saturday, April 16th
Time: 9 PM to 1 AM

So get your f'n taxes done, and come on out to The Penalty Box on 4/15 and 4/16, and make good use of your expected refund check from the US Government!

[02.10.2005]  ::  JELLY DOGG & THE BLOWFISH

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Rufkahr's gigg in January! A fun time was had by most!

Those of you fortunate enough not to have attended the show missed Jelly Dogg's impromptu rendition of Hootie and the Blowfish's "Hold my Hand", played entirely off the cuff – with zero prior practice – at the request of a table of women with decidedly "softer" tastes in music.

Surprisingly, the songg actually resembled the original version, though in retrospect, guitarist/vocalist Jason's surprising familiarity with the tune is a little unnerving!

Next up: Hanson, perhaps?

Regardless, thanks to all those who came out to see us!

Finally, we'd like to send a very special congratulations to long-time Dogg-Poundder Terrie Carroll, who announced to us that she's now engaged to her fiancé Dan, whom she actually met at a Jelly Dogg gigg last year! Yet another example of the positive influence Jelly Dogg has had in this world by bringing people together!

[01.19.2005]  ::  PENALIZED
gigg!

Heh heh! I said, "penal"!

So, like, some other venue hadn't yet heard about us and our "talent", so we were able to con them into letting us play there!

Such is the penalty for ignorance! This time's victim: The Penalty Box in Bridgeton!

Where: The Penalty Box
Friday, February 25th
Time: 9 PM to 1 AM

So come on out to The Penalty Box on 2/25 and join us in an evening of penal activities!

Heh heh! I said "penal" again!

[11.22.2004]  ::  A FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US!
gigg!

To celebrate the holiday season, Skooner's has graciously invited us back for yet another gigg!

But this isn't just any old holiday celebration! This is a bona fide Festivus miracle! So come on out and join us for this all-inclusive, non-denominational holiday party! But please, leave your "Mr. Hankeys" at home!

Where: Skooner's
Friday, December 3rd
Time: 9 PM to 1 AM

[11.13.2004]  ::  RUFKAHR'S REDUX
gigg!

Why? we don't know! But for whatever reason, Rufkahr's keeps inviting us back! Perhaps they're gluttons for punishment? Perhaps they appreciate the handful of audio-masochistic fans we bring with us? In any event, we're more than happy to be playing again!

Since our last gigg at Chad's party, we've been working on lots of new material, including putting the polish on an original song first tested in front of Chad's drunken crew!

So come out an join us at Rufkahr's on January 29th! It'll be a blast!

Where: Rufkahr's
Saturday, January 29th
Time: 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM

[10.05.2004]  ::  MAN, IT WAS COLD!...

...But man, was it fun, too!

Jelly Dogg endured an evening of sub-freezing temperatures in the wild netherworld of Troy, MO to entertain a crew of festive party-goers at Chad's party! Of course, they all had the luxury of sitting cozily in front of a roaring bonfire, while we froze our butts off from afar, but it was a great time for us nonetheless!

Anyway, thanks so much to Chad Sturholdt for inviting us to play at his shindig! Thanks, also, to Chad for his eloquent comments afterwards...

What a memorable event, I think. We thought you all sounded great, so that makes me wonder if we were just too drunk to correctly assess the quality of the festivities. I guess that means I'll just have to do it again next year! Am I a glutton for punishment or what? All joking aside, Jelly Dogg was the icing on the cake. I bet the temperature made the band feel the part too. YOU GUYS ARE F#%*ING TROOPERS! Thanks all around.

[08.22.2004]  ::  A NEW GIGG FOR AN UNSUSPECTING VICTIM!
gigg!

Poor Chad! Apparently, one of his friends, Todd Hedrick, convinced him that Jelly Dogg was "suitable entertainment" for the joint-30th-birthday party he's hosting for both his girlfriend and his roommate! As if turning 30 wasn't bad enough!

In any event, Jelly Dogg hopes to make the best of this cruel prank and provide "music" to encourage more drinking!

Where: Chad's Place
Saturday, October 2nd
Time: 8 PM to 12 AM

[08.20.2004]  ::  RUFKAHR'S WAS A BLAST!...

...Even though long-time groupie Brandie White was spilling people's drinks all over the dance floor! Nonetheless, the dancing continued, and there was much enjoyment by all.

Thanks to everyone for making Rufkahr's such a fun gigg for us!

[07.11.2004]  ::  YOU SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY

Jelly Dogg is proud to announce that despite its many shortcomings, as of this week, it has somehow survived through a full two years of existence! The cast hasn't always been the same – as the current drummer is a decided "downgrade" from the original – but nonetheless, we like to think that our birthday is cause for some kind of celebration!

To help us reflect, please take a moment to sign our guest book and share one of your favorite memories of the "Jelly Dogg Experience" with the rest of the Dogg Poundd!

[07.05.2004]  ::  JASON THE SUPERHERO

jason the superheroIn the true spirit of the July 4th holiday, our vaunted guitarist, Mr. Jason Fournier, saved a toddler from near-certain peril by catching the child as [s/]he teetered onto the patio stage at our Ferguson gigg, graciously handing the intrepid youngster back to a very relieved mother.

It is unclear at this time if the ensuing applause was in response to Jason's heroic deed, or – perhaps more plausibly – in appreciation of the fact that he momentarily had to stop playing his guitar in the process.

Whatever the case, Jelly Dogg would like to thank the wonderful Ferguson crowd who showed up to support us in celebrating a great Independence Day! Hope to see you again next year!

Photos

[06.22.2004]  ::  LINDA DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE...

...Even as her adoring husband, Vincent J. Bryson, was practically molested on-stage by an understandably lust-filled, ravenous female groupie during our 06.15 gigg at Mid River's Bar and Grill!

In an effort to avoid such uncomfortable situations in the future, the band would like to remind all would-be enterprising female groupies that Scott, the drummer, is the only "available" member of Jelly Dogg, as all the other less-undesirable members are already accounted for!

In any event, thanks to all those who came out to support us at this fine venue! We'll be sure to let y'all know when we're fortunate enough to get invited back!

[06.22.2004]  ::  EVERYBODY HAS FEELINGS...

...Even the big and burly!

During our most-recent Skooner's gigg on 05.28, after Jason started playing Mötley Crüe's "Kick Start my Heart" – only to very "Crüe"-lly stop – one very large (presumedly-drunk) patron blurted out in objection, "Stop toying with my emotions!"

To that individual, the band would like to extend its sincerest condolences. For that matter, we also wish to apologize to all those who may have suffered through listening to us without the recommended anesthetic effect of alcohol.

All apologies aside, thanks to all those who came out and supported us at Skooner's that evening!

[05.24.2004]  ::  A VERY SPECIAL GIGG
gigg!

In honor of Mr. Vincent J. Bryson's many fine years of citizenship in the town, the Ferguson City Hall has invited him – along with three other less-reputable cohorts – to perform as the headlining act (i.e., after the "puppet show") at the Ferguson July 4th Festival this year!

Where: January-Wabash Park, in Ferguson
Sunday, July 4th
Time: 6 PM to 9 PM

[05.08.2004]  ::  THE GHOST OF GEORGE COSTANZA

Thanks to everyone who joined us for Beltane festivities at The Ten Mile House this past Saturday! It started out as a dreary, rainy evening, but by the end, people were having so much fun dancing and drinking that one intrepid audience member – a guy named "Buck" – even dropped his drawers on the dance floor! Naturally, he was quickly escorted from the premises, but not before everyone got more than an eyeful of "Buck, naked". :-)

Jelly Dogg would like to announce, for the record, that it in no way condones such behavior from its audience members. Unless, of course, they're hot chicks! Then it's, like, totally cool!

In any event, thanks to everyone – including Buck – who made it such a memorable evening!

[04.22.2004]  ::  ENCORE!
gigg!

Thanks to the wonderful support of the Jelly Dogg groupies (or, "The Dogg Poundd", as we like to call y'all) at Rufkahr's this past Saturday, we've been invited back for another round! So come join us!

Where: Rufkahr's
Saturday, July 31st
Time: 8:45 PM to 1 AM

[04.15.2004]  ::  BECAUSE WE NEVER GET TIRED OF GIGGZZ...
gigg!

Skooner's has welcomed the Dogg back for an encore performance! Come join us for the festivities!

Where: Skooner's
Friday, May 28th
Time: 9 PM to 1 AM

Guaranteed to be an even better performance than last time!

[04.10.2004]  ::  NEWZZLETTER!

[04.05.2004]  ::  THANK YOU!

Well, it started out cold and windy, but by the end of the morning, everything was bright and cheery!

Jelly Dogg would like to thank Computer Associates for allowing us to entertain both runners and volunteers alike at the corner or Olive and 20th during the Spirit of St. Louis Marathon yesterday!

We had an absolute blast playing for everyone, and it was particularly gratifying to see all the marathoners waving and cheering for us as they ran by! Thanks, you guys!

[02.08.2004]  ::  NEW GIGG ANNOUNCED!

[01.26.2004]  ::  THANK YOU!

The Friday and Saturday giggzz at Skooner's were a huge hit, and we owe it all to the faithful support of our fans! Thank you one and all for coming out to have a good time with us!

And since the giggzz were such a success, the fine folks at Skooner's have already asked us back for an encore performance towards the middle of March! Check back for details as they emerge!

Also, coming soon: a mailing list to keep you up-to-date on the latest Jelly Dogg newzz!

[01.12.2004]  ::  GIGGZZ ANNOUNCED
gigg!
